Since starting endoscopic surgery in Germany in 1991, he has continued to specialize in endoscopic surgery. While practicing a wide range of endoscopic surgeries on the gastrointestinal tract, including the stomach, large intestine, gallbladder, pancreas, and spleen, he is also engaged in activities to popularize endoscopic surgery. In terms of surgical techniques, in particular, he introduced endoscopic microsurgery for rectal tumors (TEM) to Japan, and is one of the world’s top experts in this surgical technique.

During his freelance days, he received requests from all over the country to perform endoscopic surgery at over 60 hospitals. He also performs commissioned surgeries overseas, in countries like Singapore, New Zealand, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, and China. Furthermore, he has held numerous endoscopic surgery training academies both domestically and internationally to provide guidance, and he has also actively developed surgical instruments, with seven instruments commercially available to date.

He serves as Editor in Chief of the English-language international medical journal “Minimally Invasive Therapy & Allied Technologies”.
In 2011, he received the Ogami Award, the highest honor in the Japan Society of Endoscopic Surgery. He has received many awards overseas and is often featured in medical magazines.
